Most of the facilities available for our kids in Mumbai (India in general )focus on 1) Occupational Therapy 2) Speech 3) Academics 4) Behavior Therapy Each field sees a different child. No one knows the whole child other than the parent. With society pressure, added to our doubt we never question the therapist. At ASDBUDDY we related one to another and asked questions that I might have missed. It's more like having another set of eyes on the child who sees the child as a whole and knows it. Giving input on setting the goals. Since the goals are based on 3-month time gap. It gives you enough time to work on the goal but not very long term which makes you forget what you are working on. Whenever a difficult behavior pops up, the brainstorming helps on how to tackle the issue from a different level. In short, the session gives you clarity.
The video feedback helps a lot. (Private consulting) It helps you realize whether I was rushing/ relaxed/ is there a variation I could have tried/ makes you think how I can take the game to the next level.
It also helped me realize whether my child is getting stuck with some interest. How to break it and make progress. The program gave me the courage to tell my child what I feel. Talking about planes all the time is boring and I am not interested in the topic. It helped me to give a piece of the real world to my child. It helped me realize how beautifully the child is progressing socially.
