Freedom here is the “stage/level” or “freedom a child experiences” in relating to the real world around them. Freedom defines the situations the parent and child face each day. We have defined 10 Freedoms.

•Child and you are able to get out more often easily. A strong guiding relationship is in place.
•You understand your child very well and prevent any sensory overload he may have.
•Child is certainly in school with an IEP and manages without tantrums.
•Child understands routines and needs to face a person when they engage, however, may find it difficult.
•Child shares moments with parents by bringing things and showing them with relevant words. Sometimes a sentence. There is a need for setting a sensory diet in his daily routine to avoid stims.
•You are handling his need to stim by engaging in mindful activities.
•Child is aware of where he is and what he is experiencing. The child engages in all housework when asked and you feel relief.
•Child is slow though.
FREEDOM 7
•Child is more confident in engaging in new activities and wants to try.
•There is no need for stimming anymore and the child is able to set a sensory diet in his daily routine itself.
•Child attempts to start activities and engage on his own with parents and siblings.
•Child can manage to do all regular physical plays.
•Child is usually in school with an IEP which is now manageable for them.
•Child recognizes the school as part of his routine.
•When given a challenge, the child asks for guidance to complete the same. Intent to grow is exhibited clearly.
FREEDOM 8
•Child is comfortable when other people are around him and is able to separate who is in his inner circle and who is not.
•Child is ok to engage with a new person and asks for your guidance to be there.
•Child is relating to other children around and wants to grow.
•Child understands school as something everyone goes to and learns.
•Child is comfortable in outside settings and can express himself in simple/broken sentences or in any manner which is understandable to others.
•Child shows curiosity to learn but may not be able to learn fast.
•You feel confident as a parent to an ASD child.
FREEDOM 9
•Child is comfortable with himself anywhere. Whatever issues he has, he asks for guidance from his parents.
•Child can clearly communicate intent in all forms. Dynamism thrown at them is taken up and tried. He understands the need to engage with different people in the world and tries even though it might be overwhelming for the child.
•When the child is unable to cope, the child asks for breaks and can politely turn down difficult tasks.
•Parents understand ASD mind and support the child completely.
•School is managed at the child's level and is progressive.
•Child is now encouraged to provide his thoughts on "Wh" questions and he attempts to answer.
